Youth Exchanges

KNOW YOUR RIGHTS-USE YOUR RIGHTS.NO MORE DISCRIMINATION AND VIOLENCE

The Project's objective is to provide young people from different countries with the opportunity for the exchange of experience and the competences. Other objectives of the project are to foster mutual understanding between young people in different countries; contribute to developing the quality of support systems for youth activities and the capabilities of civil society organisations in the youth field.  The project will enable the meeting of young people coming from different cultures, different social and ethnic environments. Through the means of various activities (e.g. workshops, discussion clubs, ice-breakers, cultural-historical activities) participants will have the possibility of informal education. The activities aim to promote intercultural dialogue and allow the participants to get in contact with each other and with the foreign cultures. We will also discuss some of the most recognized human rights such us: Right to live, exist, To work for anyone, To own property, Safety from violence, Protection from the law, Fair trial, To be innocent until proven guilty, To be a citizen of a country, To vote etc.  The main goal of our project is the culture and promotion of Human Rights and equality to the Youth. So we will try to include as many young people with fewer opportunities in order to give them a chance to participate in a youth exchange, to meet other young people from different countries and spend a nice time together. We will try to show them that we are all equal and we have a common future in Europe. The objective of this project is the promotion of human rights and intercultural dialogue through the mutual understanding among youngsters coming from 9 EU countries, which have different cultures, histories and traditions, but are walking the same path in the European Union, sharing values and principles.  Our project is created to contribute to the development of human rights education with young people in order to promote mutual understanding, peace, friendship, respect for human dignity and human rights, non-violence and non-discrimination and act against persistent violations of human rights.   In addition, this youth exchange will contribute to get to know what is Europe by meeting young people from other member states and experiencing cultural diversity and intercultural learning.

It will also aim at raising participants' awareness about human rights in Europe (to vote, to educate) and global challenges Europe has to face (such as climate change, biodiversity loss, sustainable development).

International Youth Exchange in Italy

WHEN: 12 to 20 may 2017!
ARRIVAL : 12 MAY
DEPARTURE 20 MAY
WHO : 6 YOUTH PER COUNTRY ( 5 + 1 LEADER )
WHERE : POGGIARDO - LECCE

DESCRIPTION

IMMIGRATION is becoming a hot topic in Europe and it is increasing. European companies continue to experience various level of integration through the promotion of educational policies of multicultural character. In the first step you should create '' A Europe for the people " and explain to the youth the meaning of 'European citizenship', making citizens actively participate in Europe' s further development and heading. According to the forecasts of a famous sociologists Bauman, in the upcoming years will see "a billion people migrating to western civilizations", and this reveals a new challenge for the society: immigrants can be integrated into the community by sending the people the rules and principles of European citizenship and its values.
Through the recognition of common values, we can bridge cultural differences and create a communication channel that helps immigrants to integrate. In an international framework, the need, to contribute a be convinced of thorough educative and cultural development of a Union, is getting stronger.
Only in this way, you can build a true dialogue and citizenship coexistence: fighting prejudice, intolerance and selfishness-, which are causes typical that feed on ignorance, hatred and lack of knowledge and especially fear of the other, the unknown. The central objective of this project is to encourage young people to become active citizens, at a time when the lack of interest and lack of information (or abundance of manipulative media information) are likely to plunge the younger generation in the hallway and civil intolerance. That is why participation in the dialogue between people and cultural exchange becomes central actions to form opinion of people who are able, through the system of representative democracy, to contribute to the progress of the Union, to have a clear vision of things positive and negative. We would like to discuss with our participants also the history of the European Union by providing them with the necessary knowledge to untangle the maze of administration EU so that they know and recognize the various structures, legal sources and administrative practices, besides the actual immigration topic.
The project will involve 35 youth coming from 5 countries.
Through the last few years in the whole of Europe, especially due to the economic crisis, we have seen the spread of a very popular opinion about the European Union and its politics: many journalists, opinion leader and politicians have identified a "Democratic Deficit" about Europe, its many institutions, its many agencies and all the laws those institutions launch.
Every day the European Union seems more far from the people and that process of loss of credibility is happening just as the decisions taken in the Europeans institutions become more and more important and trenchant in people's life.
The effect of this loss of credibility in the European institutions is provoking a low access in the active citizenship's combination of rights and duties.
We will receive some youngsters interested in the European integration's dynamics coming from all over Europe and we will organize for them seven days of work and non-formal education about all the problems and possible solutions to the European integration's matters that are invalidating the work of integration realized in the last six decades.
During the cultural exchange our participants will have the opportunity to express all their hopes and concerns about the European integration's process: they will do it with the help of some innovative education methods like the "collaborative and creative writing" or the use of theater to express political or economic matters.
The main objectives of the project are to provide our participants with a thorough understanding of the entire system of administration of ' the EU and then to train citizens better prepared and equipped to become " active citizens ", which do not undergo the process of ' integration European Union, but they become the protagonists enriching themselves and their territory.
The project want to :
- increase participant's awareness about rights and duties in the European Union.
- analyze whit them the "pro and con" of being in a supranational institution.
